Interfacial Electronic Coupling of NC@WO 3 ‐W 2 C Decorated Ru Clusters as a Reversible Catalyst toward Electrocatalytic Hydrogen Oxidation and Evolution Reactions

چکیده
Designing a bifunctional catalyst for hydrogen oxidation reaction (HOR) and evolution (HER) is significant toward developing sustainable hydrogen-electric conversion systems. Herein, cost-effective catalyst, Ru/N-doped Carbon@WO3-W2C (Ru/NC@WOC), was developed via co-precipitation polyol reduction. Ru/NC@WOC showed superior HOR/HER activity in alkaline solution comparison with commercial Pt/C. HOR electrochemical tests that the mass at 0.05 V (1.96 ) exchange-current density were 7.5 1.2 times of Additionality, exhibited up 30-fold compared benchmark Ru/C. Moreover, it also displayed exceptional electrocatalytic HER overpotentials 31 mV 10 mA cm−2 119 100 cm−2, surpassing Pt/C, Ru/C, most previously reported electrocatalysts. The outstanding catalytic probably arises from synergy between Ru NC@WOC matrix, suitable binding energy, highly conductive substrate. Thus, this work may pave new avenue to fabricate low-cost catalysts fuel cells water electrolyzer.

An analytical model of hydrogen evolution and oxidation reactions on electrodes partially covered with a catalyst.
Our previous theoretical study on the performance limits of the platinum (Pt) nanoparticle catalyst for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) had shown that the mass transport losses at a partially catalyst-covered planar electrode are independent of the catalyst loading. This suggests that the two-dimensional (2D) numerical model used could be simplified to a one-dimensional (1D) model to prov...

Abstract Recently alcohol fuel cells has been increased consideration because of their environmental friendliness, high energy conversion efficiency and low emissions. Many effort have been made to improve the electro-oxidation performance of alcohols such as methanol, ethanol and propanol. In this work, a new method for ethanol oxidation based on core–shell titanium dioxide / carbon nanofib...

Palladium nanoparticles immobilized on multifunctional hyperbranched polyglycerol-grafted magnetic nanoparticles as a sustainable and efficient catalyst for C-C coupling reactions
This study offers an exclusive class of magnetic nanoparticles supported hyperbranched polyglycerol (MNP/HPG) that was functionalized with citric acid (MNP/HPG-CA) as a host immobilization of palladium nanoparticles. The MNP/HPG-CA/Pd catalyst was fully characterized using some different techniques such as thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), x-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microsco...
